Payactiv Licensed in Wisconsin Following EWA Legislation Enactment
Payactiv is proud to be a licensed earned wage access (EWA) provider in the state of Wisconsin, following the passage of bipartisan legislation and its signing by Governor Tony Evers in March 2024.
The Wisconsin Legislature passed Assembly Bill 574, establishing a clear regulatory framework for EWA providers, and Governor Evers signed the bill into law in March 2024. The law created a dedicated licensing regime and codified strong consumer protections.
Building on that foundation, Wisconsin policymakers continued to refine the framework in 2026 to clarify and strengthen standards for EWA services, including provisions related to fees and provider obligations. Senate Bill 1028 was signed by Governor Evers in April 2026.
With this framework in place, Payactiv has secured its license through the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, reinforcing our commitment to operating within clear, pro-worker regulatory standards.
