How Norman Regional Health System Reduced Employee Financial Stress and Boosted Retention

Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) is a multi-campus system that serves the health and wellness needs of regional communities throughout south-central Oklahoma.

 

The Challenge

In mid-2022 NRHS launched a workforce optimization committee led by Keith and Brittni who have a unique partnership between the clinical workforce and HR. The committee was tasked with integrating health system benefits with its employee wellness initiatives.

The health system sought an innovative offering that its 3,800-strong workforce would find most helpful, while simultaneously boosting its retention and recruitment efforts. In formulating their program, NRHS asked employees for input on what they valued most.

Financial stress quickly emerged as a major issue negatively impacting many employees’ overall personal well-being.

The Solution
NRHS’s research into solutions to ease their employees’ financial stress quickly led them to Payactiv. Keith Minnis, Vice President & Chief People Officer conducted the research that led the implementation efforts of Payactiv’s financial wellness initiative. Future Plans

Encouraged by the results, NRHS plans to further integrate Payactiv into their broader employee wellness initiatives. This includes promoting the use of Payactiv in key employee development touchpoints, such as performance reviews and wellness programs.
